Seduction In Blood Part 13 Trowa couldn't stop thinking about what Duo had said. The ideal of a living vampire was just too far fetched to conceive. He couldn't help but wonder why, all of a sudden, Duo was babbling about vampires. Over time, Trowa had gotten use to such non sense chatter between Hilde and Duo, but this time it was blown out of proportion. Asking for him to believe in vampires was like trying to give rebirth to the belief of Santa Clause. How could Duo ever expect him to swallow such rubbish? ~Because it's true.~ Trowa stopped in his tracks, wondering where the voice came from. As if to answer his question, a figure stepped from the shadows. ~Hello Trowa.~ Heero narrowed his colbat eyes at the Latin. "Who the hell are you?" ~You don't know me. . .but I know who the hell you are.~ A smile pulled at his lips as he glared at the taller boy. ~I'm the one that Duo was trying to warn you about.~ Without another thought, Heero charged the unsuspecting mortal. Before Trowa was even aware of the attack, he felt a fist dive into his gut; temporarily paralyzing him. This was followed by a pair of cupped hands slamming into his back. As he fell toward the ground, Heero grabbed the thin neck with one hand and pinned him against the wall. He tighten his grip as he bathed in the pain registering on Trowa's face. Though he wanted to make this as long and as painful as possible, he could feel both Duo and Wu Fei approaching rapidly. Duo would arrive first. . .but it didn't matter. It only meant he would have to work quickly. There was no reason to put Duo through any torture of watching Trowa's death. ~Heero, don't do this. I'm begging you. Please spare him.~ Duo's thoughts came to his mind and it soften him a little. ~Spare him and I'll go back with you. Don't kill him Heero.~ The Japanese man thought about this a moment. Just because Duo claimed to come back with him, didn't mean that he would be able to have him the way he wanted. As he listened to Duo's plead, and turned them over in his mind, he failed to notice that Trowa was reaching into his front jeans pocket with one hand, while trying to free his throat with the other. His attention was diverted back to his victim in time to realize what Trowa was attempting to do. Before it could happen, Heero seized his wrist and broke it, causing the living boy to drop the Swiss army knife that he had pulled from his pocket. His anger grew as he realized that the mere mortal was attempting to harm him. That was the last draw. Ignoring all of Duo's pleads, he continued with his assault on Trowa. Duo appeared on the scene in time to watch his boyfriend crumple to the cement. "TROWA!!!!" He ran over to the form and kneeled next to him. "Trowa. . .please be okay." He whispered as he felt for a pulse. Heero glared at the American cradling the Latin closely. Tear-filled violet eyes turned toward him. His eyes said everything that was going through his mind. The anger, hurt, and hatred. "Duo?" It was a barely audible voice that grabbed Duo's attention. As he looked down at the closed eyes, he realized that it was only a thought and not words. He could feel that Trowa was dying. "Don't give up on me." With that, he scooped the boy into his arms. Not too surprising, Heero stood in his way. "Let me pass. Haven't you done enough?! Trowa never did anything to you." At that moment, a black blur flashed before his eyes, and the next thing he knew, Heero was pinned to the ground with Wu Fei on top of him. "Duo. . .I'm sorry." Trowa whispered and fear clutched the American's heart. Even if he could get Trowa to a hospital, it would be too late. Instead, he easily laid his lover on the ground. "Duo, don't." Wu Fei demanded as he noticed that the braided boy had picked up the Swiss army knife. "Consider what he would want. Don't be selfish. . .don't give him the life that you were forced into." "I can't live without him." Duo stated tearfully as he slashed the flesh of the tanned neck. Heero struggled to free himself, and Wu Fei returned his full attention to the Japanese boy. ~Duo, don't be a fool.~ Heero demanded as he helplessly watched the American begin to drain the liquid of life from the near dead boy. ~Shut the hell up Heero. If you would have just left us alone, it wouldn't have come to this.~ Duo snapped and drank as quickly as he could.
"I couldn't let him die. This was all my fault." "Duo, I understand your feelings for him; but last night you were being selfish. You might not realize it now. . .but you will centuries from now. Your kind heart will bring you to the same unhappy life I am forced to live." "How could Heero be so cruel?" Duo questioned and pushed the brown bangs from Trowa's face. "He wasn't always like that. At one time, he was a kind and wonderful person. Time had changed that for him. It harden him. . .and destroyed him." The Chinese boy leaned against the door frame as he became lost in his thoughts. "Heero was your lost love. . .wasn't he?" Wu Fei didn't respond. "That's why you turned him into a vampire. You believed so strongly in your feelings for him. . .but you left him because he was cruel." "Yes and no. He wasn't as cruel then as he is now. . .before, the worse he would do is drink from at least six people a night. He never killed them or forced this lifestyle onto them." There was a short pause before he continued. "In truth, he left me; claiming that the world was constantly changing. . .but I wouldn't." "Do you still care for him Wu Fei?" "Seeing him again brought back many memories. . .and feelings. . .but I don't think any of them were strong. . .and if they were, it doesn't matter. He only changes for himself, not others." "What are you going to do now?" "Well, until you and Trowa get this vampire life style under control. I'll stay to train you. After both of your fangs grow in, I'm going to do what I wanted." Duo looked up at his friend. "Why do you still want to die? I mean, with me and possibly Trowa, you won't have to be alone." "It's what I want." With that, Wu Fei stood straight and left the room. Duo returned his attention toward Trowa. He could feel that the Latin was starting to come to. Slowly, the green eyes entered the room and stared up at Duo in confusion. "How are you feeling?" He asked in concern. "Weak." Trowa whispered and allowed his eyes to re-close. "What happened?" "You don't remember?" "No." "I'm going to go get you something that'll help your strength to return. I'll be right back." Trowa didn't respond as he remained laying on the bed. He could feel that something was different, but he wasn't sure what. He could hear Duo talking with someone; though the voice was strangely familiar, he couldn't think clearly enough to match it with a face or name. "He's finally awake?" "Yeah. I'm afraid to tell him." "I can't say that I blame you. Of what I've seen, he's pretty firm with his ideals." "When did you talk with him?" "At the air port in Cairo. To say the least. . .he didn't believe a word I said." Duo chuckled and reentered the room. He sat in his original spot on the bed and looked down at Trowa. "Can you sit up?" He asked and Trowa looked up at him. With Duo's help, the action was completed. He rested his boyfriend against his chest and offered a glass containing a red fluid. "Is someone here?" Trowa asked weakly as he tried to accept the drink. "A friend of mine." Duo answered as he watched the taller boy gulp down the contents of the glass as if it was the first time he had drank in a long time. "You might want to slow down there." Duo teased as he watched the remainder of the substance disappear. "What was that?" Trowa asked while thinking that it was the most delicious drink he had ever tasted. "You wouldn't believe me if I told you." The American stated softly and set the glass on the night stand next to their picture. Trowa shifted slightly so that he could hug Duo and bury his face in the hallow of his neck. "I'm sorry Trowa." He spoke in a low tone as he rubbed the scar on his boyfriend's neck. "Sorry for what?" Sighing deeply, Duo picked up the hand held mirror that was laying next to the empty glass. He held the mirror out to Trowa. Confused, the Latin looked into the cool surface. "Duo. . .that's a trick mirror. . .right?" "I wish it was Trowa. . .but it's not." Placing the mirror back on the night stand, he continued with the story that he started last night before Trowa left. He finished by revealing that the contents in the glass that Trowa had just drank was blood from the university's blood bank. This time around, Trowa believed him. . .every word that was spoken, he believed. . .mainly because while his boyfriend was speaking, he could hear the strong thoughts and feelings. The strongest was of regret from last night's affairs. "I didn't mean to do this to you Trowa. . .I'm so sorry. I wasn't thinking. . .I was just so afraid of losing you forever." "Duo, it'll be okay. If the tables were turned, I would have done the same to you. I can't blame you for it." A short silence followed, though it wasn't really quiet; for they could hear what the other was thinking. After hearing the story in its entirety, Trowa couldn't help but wonder what happened with Heero and the possibility of another attack. ~ 8 ~ Fin
